BRIDGE DESIGN ENGINEERS

Hutchinson has been designing bridges and culverts for more than 20 years. During that time, we have acquired an enviable reputation for practical and innovative solutions within this highly-technical field of civil engineering.

Our team of bridge design engineers provide bridge and culvert design for a broad base of clients - from local authorities and land developers, to farmers and private homeowners.

The size of our projects is equally varied and includes:– the design of a 60 metre long pedestrian, fishing and cycleway across the Whangateau Harbour channel at Broadlands Drive, Omaha on behalf of Rodney District Council; a pedestrian underpass at Wellsford to allow students to safely cross State Highway 1, near Rodney College; numerous rural bridges on public roads for Rodney District Council; large box culvert crossings; pedestrian bridges for subdivisional developments; multiple span roading bridges.

Bridge inspection

We use our extensive experience and knowledge to offer bridge and culvert inspection services. We have carried out this service for Rodney District Council, regularly inspecting approximately 400 bridges and culverts for structural adequacy and lifespan.

Important concerns

Cultural and ecological concerns can often arise with water crossing and/or diversion projects. Using our extensive knowledge and experience, we can provide clients with designs that safeguard the environment, acknowledge cultural issues and ensuring projects run smoothly.
