Ian, known as Hutch, is a chartered professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience in residential, commercial and industrial projects. He specialises in the design of residential, rural and industrial sub-divisions and civil engineering projects.

Under Ian’s leadership, Hutchinson has grown into a highly-successful and well-respected consultancy with a reputation for applying a practical, innovative and no-nonsense approach to engineering design.

He has developed strong relationships with Rodney District Council and local contractors, and encourages them to work together for the mutual benefits of the client.

Away from the demands of his work, Ian is an active member of his community and supports many local events. He is the Rodney District Council trustee for the Hibiscus Coast Sea Rescue Trust and, when time allows, enjoys fishing and the occasional round of golf.
